We love getting updates from runners that have participated in our events! Reading her story has inspired us and we wanted to share. We love having you as a part of The Color Run family, Nataly!
My name is Nataly St. Martin, I was a couch potato until I discovered “The Color Run” in 2012… I then weighed 219 pounds and at my first race I had to drag myself to the finish line (with a smile of course). Got home and said “Next year will be better”. I started training by walking, running a bit more & eating well. After 8 months I lost 79 pounds 🙂 just in time for the next run in Montreal.
My 2012 XL shirt size became a small shirt size in 2013. Oh Yeah! Every year since then I’ve never missed THE Color Run in Montreal <3 It’s the race that saved my life. It helped me become the happy me who now wears size 6 pants compared to wearing 22.
The Color Run opened a new perspective on life; I not only do 5K’s, I do 10k, half marathons and the biggest is to come for my 50th birthday – A full marathon 42.2 k in October 2017. My birthday is on May 26th but the full marathon will be held in October so I can train well enough to succeed.
As for the Color Run, I can’t wait for registration to open once again in Montreal, I will be there for sure for the 7th time.
I have a husband and 3 kids (18, 20, 22) still in college. When they are all done my goal is to travel to the states to do races as often as possible.
Thank you so much for creating The Color Run.
Nataly St. Martin
