Throw your hands up in the air for this month’s Color Runner Hero — MAGEN! She is such an inspiration and we are so honored that she included The Color Run in her AMAZING recovery! Get it girl!
“The Color Run was a turning point for me in my recovery. I always wanted to do The Color Run and I would see pictures where it looked like so much fun, but I always had some reason or another to not do it. Most of the time it was because I couldn’t get anyone to do it with me. After I got diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative very aggressive breast cancer at 28, I realized that I’m not promised tomorrow so I need to start LIVING! I decided I didn’t care who did it with me I NEEDED to do this, for my own spirit. I knew I would be going through chemo so I even scheduled my chemo around the run so that I would have enough strength to be able to do it. I ended up getting my husband and four friends to do it with me. It was a turning point for me because it really is The Happiest 5K on the Planet. I adopted The Color Run’s slogan, Choose Happy, and that was how I began to live my life. Instead of looking at the bad things that happen in life, I chose to look at the positive and to be happy. I believe this helped me so much in my treatment and my recovery. This past The Color Run I attended in Baton Rouge with my husband was a little rainy and overcast but that didn’t stop me from participating as a survivor, cancer free (Hair back and all as you saw in the picture)!! The Color Run has been a sort of therapy for me and it just brings so much joy to my life!”
