Happy Day Yoga

  • December 14, 2013

Get your HAPPY on with a daily dose of yoga. Researchers at Boston University found that practicing yoga can improve your mood and decrease anxiety. When you practice yoga, it increases a chemical in your brain called GABA, which helps regulate nerve activity, which all adds up to more contentment and less stress. It also improves flexibility and strength, helps you sleep better, and aids in digestion and weight management. Yes  please!

Here’s what you need to get started:

  1. You will need a mat or a towel in an open area.
  2. Find a place that is quiet or relaxing to you.
  3. Try and hold each pose for 60 seconds. If this is too long, take a break when needed and resume the pose when you feel ready.
  4. Focus on your breathing.
  5. Do the sequence twice, alternating sides so you get an even workout.
